10 TECHNOLOGY AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP HUBS IN 10 CITIES: SELIANA, KEF, JENDOUBA, SIDI BOUZID, KAIROUAN, KASSERINE, MÉDNINE, TOZEUR, GABÉS

The Elife program will design, construct, and lead 10 centers of technology, entrepreneurship, and culture in 10 interior Tunisian cities. The selected regions face the highest unemployment rates in the country and have scarce access to growth opportunities. Each center will welcome 5% of youth (ages 19-29) of the city.

THE

GOALS

Reduce inequality between young Tunisians

Increase employability

Develop greater entrepreneurship skills

Improve well-being

THE

ISSUE

Despite facing unparalleled levels of unemployment, youth in Tunisia’s interior regions lack access to the institutions and programs necessary to create sustainable forms of employment and long term community benefits.

THE ROLE OF THE

FOUNDATION

The foundation will build multipurpose centers that will offer a space for young people to have fun, get inspired, gain skills, and build projects. The Elife centers will be set up in such a way that young people can advance through the space as they commit to the programs offered. The space will be organized into three levels:

  •  Level one: the basic level allows young people access to machines (PC and Mac computers, 3D printers, laser cutting workshops, etc.), a physical and digital library, a friendly area with free wifi, and public events and lectures on subjects such as leadership, entrepreneurship, employability, etc.
  •  Level two: the second level is the will support budding entrepreneurs through access to coworking spaces and tailored trainings. It is designed with the partners of the Elife program (ESPRIT, Réseau Entreprendre, Cogite, etc.) to provide young people with the soft and hard skills they need, and guide them early in their career.
  • Level three: the last level will support the young people who seek further support in building a project out of their ideas. This incubation level will bring together young entrepreneurs with funders, coaches, and mentors. At the end, participants will be prepared to launch their own startup.
